About Me

I am an Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour at Athabasca University in Alberta, Canada, a former Chief Superintendent with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and an active researcher and consultant.

Near the end of my policing career I oversaw the RCMP’s response to extensive reports of discrimination and harassment. While this role was arguably the most difficult of my career, it was also the start of my passionate advocacy for diversity and inclusion with policing.

Over the past five years, I have delivered numerous conference presentations, keynotes, and workshops on leadership and cultural change to national and international audiences. I have also contributed to policy discussions on meaningful reforms within policing.

In my academic role, I explore the various factors that contribute to more inclusive workplaces, such as fair treatment, safety and a more inclusive style of leadership.

The outcomes of my research are used to assist police and other leaders with creating safe and healthy workplaces in which all individuals are accepted and valued for who they are.

My goal is to share key insights from my work with individuals who are equally passionate about change and want to make a difference in their organization and/or community.
