While the Boys’ Club culture, was a major factor perceived to be contributing to the harassment scandal plaguing the organization, the study results clearly showed that the complaint process was an interrelated area of concern and a key part of the problem. Like much of the harassment literature, many people within the organization highlighted the unease associated with reporting harassment, that was based on the three key factors:
(1) a perceived lack of accountability for perpetrators;
(2) an overall distrust in the system and the belief that nothing would be done; and
(3) the potential for retaliation against and other repercussions for people making complainants.

This is the fourth time in my career that I have been a victim of harassment / discrimination and the third time that such treatment has been documented. I do not hold out any hope that the organization will effectively deal with this or any similar complaint in my detachment.

I regret having joined the organization....

I regret having joined the organization. I would not recommend it to anyone. I am so disillusioned with the organization and management. Management is not practicing what they preach. The rank structure protects high ranking offenders. Harassment and workplace conflict are not investigated in an unbiased manner.

My difficulties were with old school members....

My difficulties were with old school members who did not respect females in the same role as them. As a long serving member, I reluctantly had to use the harassment complaint system once due to a difficult old school manager. Based on my own personal experience with it, I would never recommend it to other members who were harassed by a supervisor. I hope for future adjustments to the system.

At one time I did feel I was being treated....

At one time I did feel I was being treated somewhat fairly and with respect.  Since reporting a serious workplace harassment issue to management, I no longer do.  The scars from the experience of trying to do the right thing (as per policy) are unhealed and will likely never mend.

It lacks effective punitive measures for members....

It lacks effective punitive measures for members that are unethical, bullies, harassers. The victims get no support and the bullies do not have to be accountable for their actions. Victims are made to transfer because the organization does not deal with the bullies and harassers.

There is also harassment in the workplace which is not being reported.
